Vintage Diver's Helmet Lamp #TL61601A

NAVY Desk Lamp #T031005A: This most unusual and functional, old (July 16, 1912) brass and Iron desk lamp is very versatile. It can be adjusted at two independent points; the large set screw that joins the anchor base with the stem, and the large loop seen at the top of the stem where it joins the shade. This desk lamp was most likely made by Wilcox Crittenden & Co., Middletown, CT. in 1912. History note: This was later merged into North & Judd which later became part of Gulf & Western. All of this was later sold off when the company became known as Paramount Communications and finally taken over by Viacom - Wphew!
It has been rewired with a new, rayon wrapped lamp cord and can safely use up to a 100 watt bulb. I am not sure if the copper sailboats on the shade are original Navy or not, although they look to have been there a long time. The shade is 4"L x 4.25"Deep x 7.25"W. The cast iron base, which I believe was made from a purposefully cast 5 lb. anchor is 3.25"L x 6"Deep x 7"W. The total length of this most unusual, antique, desk lamp is 12.75". It is marked "Pat. July 16 1912, WCs Co." on the bottom of the base and "5" on the top. The weight is about 7 lbs.
